A Special Day in Alawon
On June 25 and 26, JTS visited Alawon Elementary School, located 1,200 meters above sea level. We delivered children’s clothing and school supplies, offered free haircuts, shared ramen, and enjoyed a lively dance time together. We’re sharing this heartwarming day in Alawon with our supporters through this video.
Sujata Academy’s 30th Anniversary Video
Beneath the place where the Buddha once practiced asceticism lies Sujata Academy in India, celebrating 30 years of history. It’s a place where smiles and learning never stopped, even amid poverty and discrimination. This video captures an incredible journey of growth — where children became teachers and entire villages were transformed. Discover Sujata Academy, a school of hope carrying on the warm-hearted spirit of Sujata, who once offered porridge to the Buddha.
Second-Phase Support for Gyeongbuk Wildfire Victims
In the spring of 2024, wildfires in the Uljin and Yeongdeok regions of Gyeongbuk displaced many of our neighbors and destroyed their homes. Following its initial emergency relief, JTS is now delivering essential goods and daily necessities directly to affected residents to help them rebuild their lives. JTS will continue to stand with disaster-affected communities and marginalized neighbors, carrying forward this spirit of warm solidarity.
Back to Myanmar – Second Emergency Relief Mission
From June 10 to 19, JTS carried out relief activities in areas affected by the Myanmar earthquake. In this first phase of support, we delivered emergency food supplies to 1,052 households across six temporary shelters in the Mandalay region. In collaboration with the local relief group Chefs Without Borders, we prepared and distributed food packages — including rice, beans, cooking oil, and instant noodles — to meet urgent needs. JTS plans to continue its third phase of emergency assistance in early July, reaching approximately 4,000 households in the Amarapura region.
