[Jamaica] A Letter of Appreciation from Our Partner, Food For The Poor (FFTP)
2026-06-26

Do you remember the urgent crisis a few months ago, when Hurricane Melissa swept through southwestern Jamaica?
In the midst of that devastation, JTS and our partner, Black River Commodities, delivered eight containers of rice (200 metric tons). Ed Raine, CEO of our local partner, Food For The Poor (FFTP), has sent a heartfelt letter expressing his sincere gratitude to all of our generous donors for making this life-saving support possible.
Dear JTS America and Black River Commodities,
Although several months have passed since Hurricane Melissa impacted Jamaica, I did not want to miss the opportunity to personally thank you for your generous donation of 8 containers of rice. Your generous donation nourished families in some of the hardest-hit communities and created a real impact during and after recovery.
When families across southwestern Jamaica were facing tremendous challenges in the aftermath of the storm, your support helped Food For The Poor provide urgently needed assistance and relief.
Contributions like yours enabled us to respond quickly and stand alongside communities as they began the difficult process of recovery.
We are grateful that you chose to partner with Food For The Poor during this emergency. Your generosity made a meaningful difference in the liver of vulnerable families, and we hope this will be the beginning of a lasting relationship.
With sincere appreciation,
EEd Raine
President/CEO
