The new year of 2024 has dawned. We hope everyone remains safe and healthy throughout the coming year. Today, some places in the world still need the help of JTS. We are grateful for the support of our sponsors, which has improved the lives of those in need. We would like to share news of our past activities with you.

Cambodian Community Support

JTS and Gwangmyeong Happy Citizens conducted a project from August 1st to November 2nd to deliver essential items and improve housing conditions at the Cambodian Workers’ Shelter. Initially, it started with assisting five workers in desperate need, but now it extends to improving inadequate facilities and providing necessities for all shelter members.

Sri Lanka 4th Emergency Relief

In early November 2023, JTS continued its fourth round of relief activities in Sri Lanka. Building upon the field surveys conducted during the third round of activities, this time, the focus was specifically on supporting students. In total, school supplies were provided to 2,663 students in Wadduwa, Kamburupitiya, Passara, and Polonnaruwa. Additionally, a comprehensive relief effort unfolded, including the provision of 20kg of rice to 650 households and 10kg of rice to 1,320 households.

Charcoal Sharing with JTS and Jungto Society

Every winter, JTS and Jungto Society visit neighbors in need of charcoal together. This year, reflecting the feedback from past volunteers, we decided to split the distribution of charcoal into two phases for those with difficulty storing it. In the first phase, we provided charcoal to a total of 197 households nationwide, amounting to 39,400 pieces.
