With the warm spring breeze, we bring you new updates from JTS. Thanks to your valuable support, we were able to continue many activities over the past two months. Emergency Relief for Cyclone Fengal in Sri Lanka
At the end of November 2024, Cyclone Fengal struck the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. Centered around local volunteers, JTS provided relief supplies including 18 types of items such as food, cold medicine, and mosquito nets. The residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude, saying the support was a great help.
School Completion Ceremonies in Mindanao, Philippines
In 2024, JTS Philippines built 10 schools, including a special education school (SPED), in indigenous communities in Mindanao. The JTS delegation attended the completion ceremonies for 9 of the schools, with one school being too remote to visit. The visit included Ven. Pomnyun Sunim, JTS President Park Ji-na, JTS Philippines Director Noh Jae-guk, former Director Lee Won-joo, and JTS volunteers.
Housing Improvement Project in Phumzhol Village, Bhutan
Phumzhol Village in Trongsa, Bhutan is a small community of 15 households. JTS carried out various housing improvement projects there. The villagers themselves broke and carried stones, built walls, and applied cement—learning firsthand the meaning of “We build our village ourselves.”
2024 JTS Street Outreach Campaign
In the winter of 2024, JTS volunteers carried out a total of 107 street outreach campaigns across the country, with 2,939 participants joining the effort. We sincerely thank everyone who took part in the JTS street campaign.
