Thank you for your support towards JTS America. Thanks to your donations, we were able to provide food and essential supplies to refugees and victims of natural disasters, medical support to patients, and education and school supplies to students. We deeply appreciate your interest and support.

Emergency assistance to the victims of Typhoon Mitag 

On October 5-6, 2019, 100 volunteers helped repair the damage in Sinnam village, Samcheok-si, Gangwon-do, which was damaged the most by Typhoon Mitag. 20 volunteers also helped repair the damage in Uljin. After the work, we felt that it was a shame we couldn’t help more. Although we stopped our support here, local residents will keep working to get everything back to normal. 

2019 fall picnic at Aegwang-won 

JTS organized a picnic to Ulsan for people with intellectual disabilities in Aegwang-won. The people in Aegwang-won greeted Ven. Pomnyun, the JTS Chairman of the Board of Directors, then met a partner, who would help them throughout the day. We visited Sipridae Forest, the National Garden in Taewha River, and the Gallery of Hyundai Motors. We also played a game using a ball and did a singing contest in the Dubuk Jungto Retreat Center.

Follow-up of the water system in Mindanao

We visited Vayok, San Fernando, to monitor the water system that we installed six months ago. We determined if there were any problems with facilities or any difficulties for the residents to use the system, and identified if there was any room for improvement for future water system projects.  

The third unit of JTS supporters

On October 19, 2019, We had an opening ceremony for the third unit of JTS supporters with JTS activists in our office. JTS supporters should learn and share. It is important to know who needs help and how they are now, because we can provide the help that they actually need if we know the reality. Every week, the supporters learned to share what they have and discussed what we can do right now in this situation. They learned about and discussed child labor and global poverty issues for four weeks.
