The very eventful year of 2021 is winding down. Although the year has been tough, many of our neighbors were able to have a better year thanks to the warm hearts and help from many of our donors. JTS greatly appreciates all your help throughout this year and wishes you a healthy and happy new year! Here is JTS news for you.

A Picnic and Volunteering Road to Dubuk
JTS volunteers visited senior citizens in Dubuk this fall. Volunteer work that was halted due to Covid-19 could finally be resumed. The volunteers accompanied those with limited mobility to the public bathhouse and assisted them with their pepper harvest. JTS also doled out prepared side dishes to the senior citizens in the afternoon. Dubuk seemed to have been reinvigorated in a long time thanks to the JTS volunteers and the citizens who welcomed them.

Warm and Helping Hands for Myanmar
This July, “The Campaign for Sending Masks to Myanmar” was started from a request from a Burmese living in Korea. This initiative was successfully completed where masks and vitamins were sent to Myanmar. On September 30, after the campaign was over, additional masks, hand sanitizers, and vitamins were also sent to Myanmar. They were successfully delivered to Myanmar hospitals and those in need.

The Upcoming Opening of an Elementary School in Midlutong, Philippines.
The construction of an elementary school in Midlutong, an area with a predominantly Islamic population, is in full swing. JTS Philippines has been carrying out the construction since last February. Once the school is completed, it will have a total of 6 classrooms, a separate restroom for boys and girls, and a dormitory for teachers. The construction, which has been delayed due to Covid-19, is projected to be completed by next June.

Happy to Go Back to the School
Since the school in Dungeshwari, which was closed for more than one year due to Covid-19, has reopened with a regular schedule, the children in the villages were allowed to return. In addition, more than 800 students were able to eat lunch together a while ago thanks to the support from a Korean company in India.
