Make Holes Using Forklifts

Since the trees at the JTS Philippines Center, including American tulip trees, coffee trees, and golden trees weren’t growing properly, JTS staff and volunteers inspected the soils and the tree roots to solve the problem. They dug the soil around the trees using a forklift and inspected the soil. They found that the soil lacks nutrients and did not absorb sufficient water. To solve these problems, they added nutrient-rich soil and fertilizers around the trees.

As a result, American tulip trees and golden trees became significantly healthier. The staff and volunteers completed the process of adding soils and fertilizers to coffee trees in mid-May and continue to take care of the trees.
