JTS India supporting damaged villages from the typhoon

It had rained for a few days due to a typhoon.

In Dongheswari, there are many mud houses and thatched roofs.

When the Sun came out after rain like squall, houses are dried quickly. But if it rains all day long for a few days, mud walls collapse, and the houses are full of mud.

Some roofs of the houses of poor family leak because they did not make roof with new sheaves.

JTS India are supporting for 15 villages.

We checked the status of the effects of rain in 14 villages. After checking Jarhari, the farthest village, tomorrow, we will finish the investigation.

Based on our investigation, we will make plans for support considering which household needs support and which support will be needed for each household. For example, in case of a single elderly household or a household with the disabled, we need to plan additional support including workers to fix roofs.

There were many households with unfortunate stories.

But we are fortunate that it is not a rainy season yet.

If we support building strong roofs this time, we may be able to avoid severe impacts of rain in the upcoming rainy season.
