Happiness from Bhutan
This year, JTS is launching a sustainable development project in Bhutan, in partnership with the Bhutanese government. This project aims to create a new model for future societies where people can live happily with minimal consumption, especially in light of the climate crisis threatening human civilization. Throughout April, the ‘Happiness from Bhutan’ team, led by Ven. Pomnyun Sunim, will be in Bhutan to research and investigate how to implement the project.

Coal briquette sharing in Guryong Village by JTS and Gilbot
Every winter, Gilbot, a group of celebrities and artists, and JTS distribute coal briquettes to households in Guryong Village that still rely on them to endure the cold season. This year, more actors and artists than ever came together to help deliver the briquettes. Let’s take a look at this heartwarming scene together.
Visit to San Miguel High School
San Miguel High School is the second high school built by JTS, featuring four classrooms, a multipurpose room, and a hallway, making it a large-scale facility. The school was newly constructed on a spacious site after demolishing two temporary classrooms. Previously, the high school being far away led many children who graduated from elementary school to remain in the village, often resulting in early pregnancies or marriages at a young age. JTS hopes that this school will provide a safe space for children to be protected until they reach adulthood and dream of a brighter future.

Pomnyun Sunim and a group of 500 pilgrims, along with the contributors, local residents, and students who have supported the academy’s journey, participated in the event. The students of Sujata Academy and the JTS staff meticulously prepared the event to express their gratitude to those who have paved the way for this journey.
