Relief Supplies for the People of Sri Lanka Suffering from Flood Damages
One June 11 th and 12 th Join Together Society (JTS) distributed relief supplies to flood victims in 6 locations in Kalutara, 3 locations in Matara, and 3 locations in Galle. 3000 households in total received the relief supplies that consisted food, kitchen supplies, and two large towels. Each household received 20kg of rice, 5kg of soybean, and 1kg of coconut oil in terms of food and 1 rice cooker, 1 kettle, 1 set of pots (3 pieces), 4 plates, 4 bowls, 3 spoons, 1 rice scoop, and 1 washbowl in terms of kitchen equipment.

The residents standing in line and relaying relief supplies to one another was a rare sight to see. Working together to move the supplies, the residents seemed to brighten up become more energized

On June 10 th , 300 sets of school backpacks (lunch boxes, water bottles, school supplies) were presented to students in La Tteuna Darfur, one of the cities that were flooded. This was done upon the request of INEB (International Network of Engaged Buddhists) monks who heard of the flooding in Sri Lanka during their visit to Korea
We were happy and touched to see that the expression of the residents and children affected by the flood became more cheerful after receiving the relief supplies.
