[Dallas Dharma Center December JTS Fundraising Campaign]

The Dallas Jungto Dharma Center conducted its December Join Together Society (JTS) Fundraising Campaign on December 3, 2017. Before initiating the street fundraiser, the participants read the guide for the JTS street campaign and repeated the phrase, “They are all our children.” together.

“With just $1, you can feed two starving children.”

There were many who passed by the donation box, but there were people who retraced their steps and made a donation with a smile. There were also children who put a dollar in the donation box looking proud of themselves. Looking on the generosity of these people, the fundraisers felt warm in their hearts. There were also people who were curious about JTS and shared compliments on the good deeds of the relief organization. It was a good opportunity to spread the word about JTS.

Regardless of the amount collected from the street fundraising, it was a precious opportunity for the participants to reflect on themselves and help those in need around the world. The children who participated in the fundraising said that they had fun and shared that they wanted to participate again next time.

The Washington Jungto Dharma Center conducted its December Join Together Society (JTS) Fundraising Campaign on December 17, 2017 at Ellicott City Lotte Mart. Thankfully the winter weather was rather mild. The fundraisers had fun since there were lots of people going in and coming out of the supermarket, and many of them made donations. The 7 year-old boy who participated in the campaign did a great job raising awareness and collecting donations.

Location: H-Mart and Han-nam Mart in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada

The Vancouver Jungto Dharma Center conducted its December Join Together Society (JTS) Fundraising Campaign on January 20, 2017. As usual, there was a forecast of rain in Vancouver, which is usual during winter, but the downpour was heavier than expected. The participants were concerned that they wouldn’t be able collect many donations due to the bad weather. Since they had no previous experience in street fundraising, they thought that they might not even be able to collect $10. Surprisingly, despite the rainy day, they were able to raise a total of $356.75. The experience touched the hearts of all the participants and made them think, “ The world is still a good place to live.”
