January 2020 JTS America Newsletter
We appreciate everyone who supported us in 2019. Thanks to your donations, we were able to provide food and essential supplies to refugees and victims of disasters, to provide medical support to patients, and to provide education and school supplies to students. We deeply appreciate your interest and support.
India JTS’s emergency supply of blankets
Last December was the second coldest month in 119 years in India. The lowest temperature was 5-6°C in Dongheswari. It is warmer now, but still cold. We were worried about the health of the poor, because some of them could freeze to death. We decided to supply blankets for the poor to make sure they have a warm and safe winter.
Gifts to Alawan village
At 5:40am, Won-joo Lee, the president of Philippines JTS, left for Alawan to deliver hoodies, hats, and scarves, which were donated by Korea for children aged 3 through 6. These were distributed to preschoolers and elementary schoolers at the school in Alawan village. The children were happy to receive these heartfelt gifts.
Gifts to Sujata Academy
We completed packing gifts for Sujata Academy on December 28th. This package includes school supplies and essentials for students as well as the supplies for JTS staff. We appreciate all the volunteers who helped pack and deliver the packages.
